Honda Demonstrates Depth and Strength at Appin in Round 2 Victories in all classes.

The Factory Honda Team delivered a commanding performance at Round 2 of the Australian Motocross Championship in Appin, qualifying first in every class and securing overall victories in MX1, MX2, and MX3. The result highlights the team’s depth, preparation, and relentless pursuit of excellence.

Team Manager Mark Sladek credited the team’s strategic preparation:
“We raced here a month ago at a state event and stayed on to test. Today’s results prove the value of that extra effort. The competition is fierce, and we’re committed to doing everything we can to stay ahead.”

MX1 – Webster Untouchable, Todd Toughs It Out

Boost Mobile Honda’s Kyle Webster showcased his dominance from the start, topping qualifying, winning the Superpole, and claiming both race wins in gritty, come-from-behind efforts.

“It wasn’t easy. The track was technical with mixed conditions—slippery in some sections, good traction in others. Our testing here paid off. I still have ground to make up in the championship, so I can’t afford to let anything slip,” said Webster.

Repco Honda’s Wilson Todd, battling through injury, pushed hard to finish 6th overall (8-5 finishes) despite racing with a fractured leg from a crash just one week earlier.

“It was painful, but the points matter. I want to be inside the top five by the end of the championship. The last 12 months have been brutal—burns, a broken foot—but that’s racing. I’ll grit through Gilman and look forward to some recovery after,” Todd stated.

MX2 – Connolly Unbeaten, Larwood Builds Momentum
Polyflor Honda’s Brodie Connolly remained undefeated in the championship, qualifying fastest and winning both motos and taking the overall —pending investigation into penalties from race two.

“I’m staying focused on our program. There’s been some aggressive riding out there, some penalties applied that make no sense to me, but I’m not getting drawn into it. The team and bike are working great, I don’t want to get caught up in any negativity, I will leave it to my team to work through —we’ll keep building and prepare for round 3” Connolly said.

Company Director, Yarrive Konsky has stated an appeal is being lodged regarding situation.

Alex Larwood, on the National Finance and Loans CRF250RWE, claimed third overall with a consistent 5-3 finish and is gaining confidence after tough seasons.

“My early race speed needs work. I’m being too cautious at the start and giving away time. But I’m happy with back-to-back podiums. We’ll keep pushing,” said Larwood.

SCT Logistics Honda’s Charli Cannon, the team’s sole female factory racer, competed in MX2 against the men. She impressed in race one with a 16th-place finish, before crashes in race two dropped her to 23rd, giving her 20th overall.

“I was happy with my pace in the first moto. Race two didn’t go to plan, but there’s a lot of positives to take away. This experience helps me prepare for international goals,” Cannon shared.

MX3 – Kingsford Claims First Career Win

Kayd Kingsford, racing the Pro Honda Oils CRF250RWE, earned his first overall win in the MX3 class, overcoming a race-one crash to finish strong.

“The field is deep, and I can’t afford any mistakes like in race one. I had to fight through the pack, which isn’t ideal, but to take my first win feels amazing. I know I’ve got to work even harder to stay in front,” Kingsford said.

The Factory Honda Team now turns its attention to Round 3 at Gilman, South Australia, in two weeks’ time.
