Honda Racing Aims to Keep Supercross Dominance Alive – Round 3 in Wollongong!

Factory Honda Australia delivered an impressive performance in Rounds 1 and 2 in Redcliffe, Brisbane, and they’re set to keep that momentum going in Round 3 this weekend at Win Stadium in Wollongong, NSW. The team’s nine talented riders, alongside their CRF Supercross-winning machines, are primed for the challenge ahead. With a world-class stadium and track, this event promises to showcase the championship’s finest talent.

Team Director Yarrive Konsky reflects on the season’s intensity, noting the team’s focus post-Rounds 1 and 2, after some heated moments. “We’ve addressed it—the elephant in the room. Yes, we were all fired up initially, but we’ve since talked it through and reset our goals. I love that our nine riders are all fiercely competitive, but it’s important we stay respectful and united toward the larger goal: winning. To win, you have to finish first, and you can’t do that if you’re down or hurt,” Konsky said.

SX1 Class

In SX1, championship leader Joey Savatgy will represent Boost Mobile this weekend. With fierce competition ahead, Savatgy is focused on making every race count as the season tightens. “I am pumped to where the  BOOST colours this weekend; they’re a fantastic brand to be associated with. I’m am happy to be leading, but I know there’s a target on my back. With just three rounds left, I can’t afford to lose any points,” said Savatgy.

Dean Wilson, racing for SCT Logistics Attards Honda, is determined to reclaim the red plate after a mistake-riddled Round 2. “Losing the points lead was hard; I made mistakes while out in front, and I can’t let that happen again,” Wilson said.

The third SX1 Honda rider, Aaron Tanti, representing Boost Mobile, seeks redemption after Round 2’s setbacks. Sitting fourth in the championship, Tanti is hungry for a podium finish to join his teammates at the top.

SX2 Class

In SX2, Polyflor Honda’s Shane McElrath leads the championship, followed closely by Boost Mobile Honda’s Cole Thompson and Honda teammates Brodie Connolly, Noah Ferguson, sitting in third, fourth and Alex Larwood in equal fifth. McElrath is resolute in his pursuit of the title. “I want this championship—it’s important for both me and the team. I’m getting more comfortable on the new Honda, and while my teammates and competitors are strong, I’m determined to keep the red plate,” McElrath commented.

SX3 Class

Mongrel Boots steps up their partnership for the remainder of the championship, commemorated with a fresh SKDA graphic kit. Jake Cannon sits second in the SX3 standings, and he’s been hard at work to improve his speed and consistency. “Rounds 1 and 2 were good, but not quite good enough. I was too tight, made errors, and I can’t afford that. It’s time to make it count over the next three rounds,” Cannon stated.
