CAVALLO TWO TIME ON THE PODIUM AND STILL SECOND IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP

The fifth round of the 2024 FIM EnduroGP World Championship took place on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 July in Gelnica, Slovakia, with an extremely technical and tough race, characterized by a track with a very varied surface, a tight CO and three special stages to be repeated three times a day.

Our drivers competed on a 56 km race course characterized by high level and very technical tests in which experience and concentration played a fundamental role in the success of the race.At the start of both days of the race, the route included an Enduro Test approximately 5.8 km long inside a forest with muddy ground, followed by the CO at the Paddock, a very technical 5.2 km long Cross Test characterized by counterslopes, jumps and motocross-style banks. To conclude a natural Extreme Test of over a kilometer in length.

At the GP of Slovakia Matteo Cavallo ran a consistent race on both days, recording the best class time at the last step of the Extreme Test during Day One and finishing on both days of racing in third place in the E3 class and in tenth placed in the EnduroGP class on Saturday and in eighth position on Sunday. These results allow him to remain in second position in the E3 class.

After the injury at the start of the season, Leo Le Quere is getting back into better shape race after race. The French driver recorded good times in all the special stages at the Slovakian GP and drove a regular race.

The final score for him is a seventh place in the E2 class on Saturday, which could have been a fifth place without the penalty minutes taken at the time control, and a sixth place on Sunday. Lorenzo Macoritto finished in seventh place on Saturday and retired on Sunday due to the after-effects of a fall on Saturday.

Once the Slovakian trip is over, the enduro world championship will move to Wales to compete, on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 August in Rhayader, the sixth and penultimate act of the 2024 season.
