It was the La Ginestra cross-country track in Fermignano that hosted the fourth round of the Marche Regional FMI. A track that our two boys knew well as they both come from the area.
Luca Rosati on the MX2 and Davide Paglialunga on the 125 showed right from the start that they could be among the protagonists of their races. Luca took pole position, while Davide finished the qualifying session in ninth place.
In the first heat of the MX2 single class race, Luca suffered some contact in the opening laps, but as the minutes ticked by he regained positions until he took the chequered flag in third place. In race two things started much better, from the first positions he maintained second place for the duration of the race, playing with Giarrizzo.
With these two finishes Luca climbed onto the second step of the Fast MX2 podium and kept his position in the championship.
Davide made a good start to the first race, but on lap three, while running in fifth position, he made contact with another rider, losing time and positions. From there he tried to recover as much as possible and finished eighth. In the second race the script was the same, but this time the last big crash forced Davide to retire with a few laps to go, finishing 17th.
He finished the day in eighth place overall in the Junior 125 class and sixth in the championship after four rounds.
Next up for Luca Rosati is the fourth round of the Italian Pro Prestige at Ponte a Egola (PI) on the 22nd and 23rd of June, and the following week both he and Davide will take part in the fifth round of the Regional Marche FMI at Fratte di Sassofeltrio (PU).
MATTIA SERAFINI (Team Manager): It was practically our home race. Fermignano is a bit of a training base for us, so we expected good results. Luca showed excellent speed, finishing third and second in the two fractions. Too bad about the contact in the first race, otherwise he could have fought for the race win. Nevertheless, the good performance and second place in the championship remain. For Davide things had started well, he would also have fought for the Junior podium, but two contacts and a crash in the two heats seriously affected his result. However, we remain satisfied, the boys continue to grow with each race and that is what is most important to us. Now a weekend off before we dive back into our final commitments before the summer break. Thanks as always to everyone who has supported us this season.
