Hakon Osterhagen of JM Racing Honda finished inside of the top fifteen in the sixth round of the MX2 World Championship in Lugo, Spain. Osterhagen managed to start inside of the top five in both heats. However, a mistake in the first heat and a difficult beginning in the second heat cost him many places and due to this he finished in sixteenth and thirteenth position.
On Saturday the team suffered a setback as Tim Edberg crashed on a triple and came in contact with a tree. Because he briefly lost consciousness, he went to the hospital for a scan and will have to rest for the time being. For Edberg, this means that his role as a fill in rider is over and the entire team wishes him all the best for the future.
In the qualifying heat of the MX2 class, Hakon Osterhagen managed to get a very good start and started the race in fifth place. However, a crash dropped him all the way back to thirty-fifth place. During the race he came back to the front and finished twenty-fourth. Delvintor Alfarizi started to get into a better rhythm during the day and was looking forward to Sunday.
In the first moto Hakon managed to get another start in the top five. Unfortunately things went wrong in the first lap and he lost many places due to a mistake. He came back into the race in fifteenth place and eventually finished sixteenth. Alfarizi finished the heat in thirty-fourth place.
In the second moto Osterhagen was also in the top 5 after the start, but again struggled in the first three laps. When he gets this better under control, he can take a big step. He eventually finished thirteenth and Alfarizi finished the heat in thirtieth place.
This weekend the seventh race of the world championship is scheduled for JM Racing Honda in St. Jean d’Angely, France.
