Tyla van de Poel of the De Baets MX team finished seventh overall in the opening round of the Dutch MX Nationals in Oss. Van de Poel had to play catch up after a poor start in the first moto but fought his way back to eighth position. In the second moto he took a much better start and ended up in seventh place, which was his overall result as well.
Tyla couldn’t find the flow in time practice. Despite this he still managed to set the tenth fastest time on the clock.
In the opening moto he had a lot of catching up to do. He took a poor start and came out of the corner in the middle of the field. In the first couple of laps he managed to pass a lot of riders and worked his way up into eighth position. In the rest of the race he held on to this position and crossed the finish line in eighth place.
Tyla took a much better start in the second moto but this time he was not riding aggressive enough in the first couple of laps. After a few laps things started to go better and he managed to make up some lost positions again. He kept fighting till the end and finished the race in seventh, which was his overall classification as well. His riding went much better than in Lierop and in the coming weeks he will continue to work on a few week points to be stronger in the next race. This weekend he will participate in the first round of the Dutch Masters of Motocross in Harfsen.
