For next season to keep Maurizio Scollo company under the tent of the Brescia-based Ghidinelli Yamaha Racing team, there will be young French rider Saad Soulimani.
Born in Dreux, a small French town in the Central Loire Valley region, and born in 2003, Saad Soulimani is a French rider of Moroccan descent who finished fourth in the MX2 class of the French MX Championship in the 2023 season and won the podium twice.
In the EMX250, Soulimani only competed in the first three races on the calendar, but with more than satisfactory results. The Frenchman reached the “points zone” in five of the six heats held and the best result was a ninth place in the first stage of the Italian round in Trentino, at the Pietramurata circuit.
In the remaining part of the season, after interrupting the collaboration with his previous team, he decided to migrate to the MX2 of the FIM Motocross World Championship to gain experience and improve, participating in only a few tests.
At the end of the season, he was also called up by Team Morocco to represent the country in the MXoN held at the Ernèe circuit.
For the 2024 season, Saad Soulimani will carry the colors of the Ghidinelli Yamaha Racing Team in the Internazionali d’Italia MX, the Italian MX PRO Prestige MX2 Championship and the European Motocross 250 (EMX250) Championship.
Currently, the team and rider are evaluating which bike to use next season, be it the 2T or the 4T. In addition, on the occasion of some important GPs for Soulimani, there will also be the possibility of entering the MX2 class as a Wild Card.
As for Scollo, the contract also includes an extension clause for the 2025 and 2026 seasons, an extension that will be evaluated during the season.
Finally, the Ghidinelli Yamaha Racing Team would like to thank once again all its partners for their belief in the proposed project and in the goals set.
