De Baets MX team and Lotte van Drunen extend contract for 2025

The De Baets MX team and Lotte van Drunen will continue their collaboration in 2025. Both parties have had a very successful season in which Van Drunen won the women’s world title for the first time in her career.

After a year of working together, we will work on the small details this winter in order to be able to start even stronger next year. The De Baets MX team and van Drunen are happy to continue their collaboration and are confident of making it another successful season. The Women’s World Championship kicks off on April 5 in Riola Sardo, Sardinia and they both want to start the season strongly there.

In addition to van Drunen, the team will also support two talented 125cc riders. Tyla van de Poel has already shown several great things this year and has gained a lot of experience. Next year, van de Poel hopes to continue his upward trend in the EMX125 Championship so that he can grow towards the top ten.

In addition to van de Poel, the Dane Bertram Thorius will ride in the EMX125 class as well. Thorius comes from the Yamaha Blu Cru program, where he has won the 65cc and 85cc class in the past. This winter he will train under the guidance of Kenny van Dueren so that he is ready to make the step up to the heavier 125cc class.

Team owner Danny de Baets commented: “I am happy to be able to work with this talented team in 2025. We managed to win the world title this year with Lotte van Drunen and of course we will do everything we can to prolong it. In addition, my heart lies with the 125cc class and I am happy to help these talented guys in their next step to the top. I want to thank Yamaha for their trust and we will do everything we can to score as high as possible.”
