Australia’s fastest female motocross racer, Charli Cannon, is thrilled to compete against the world’s best in the final round of the Women’s Motocross World Championship in Turkey this weekend.
Fresh off her third consecutive Australian title, the young Queenslander, supported by SCT Logistics, Honda Australia, and next year’s MXGP of Australia in Darwin, is determined to give it her all. Her focus is clear: ride to her full potential and make every lap count.
“I’m not sure what to expect from the other racers, but if I can ride at my best, I’ll be happy,” said Cannon. “We’re racing for a lot of reasons this weekend, and I hope it opens doors for a full-time ride next year so I can compete in the entire championship.”
Charli has spent the last two weeks in Europe, preparing meticulously for this weekend’s race, and feels this is her best pre-race preparation yet.
“Everything has gone smoothly—the testing, the bike, the team around me—it’s all in place. I’m running the same suspension, tires, and bars as I do at home, so I feel really comfortable,” Cannon added.
Team director Yarrive Konsky is proud of Charli’s dedication and believes she has what it takes to become Australia’s first world motocross champion.
“Charli is incredible, and her family is just as dedicated. She and her brother Jake push each other to be better, which is why they’re both champions in their own right. I have no doubt they’ll both be world champions one day. Charli is laser-focused on her goal of becoming a world champion, and I believe she’ll achieve it,” said Konsky.
