KMP Honda Racing secures the MX Masters title early in Jauer

After there was a hot finale in Holzgerlingen last season, Max Nagl was able to  secure the drivers’ title in Jauer early this year. Starting the weekend with a big point lead, he was able to collect the necessary points with his routine without any problems. Jordi Tixier was also fast, but missed the podium by a few points this weekend. KMP Honda Racing also continues to lead in the team and brand classification.

Alexander Karg (Teamchef)

We’ve already achieved a goal for the season, which makes me very happy. If you have known us for a long time, you could observe that we have worked our way up the MX Masters series step by step. Two titles in a row is a huge success, we’ve always dreamed of it, but it wasn’t easy to achieve. I have to thank the whole team, the drivers, the mechanics, the helpers and of course the sponsors. We have created a special group because we are not only successful, but it is also great fun to work together. Not to forget our constantly growing fan community. It started with a few guys from our home town of Ketsch and has developed into a really big group that supports us loudly on every route. We continue to drive our concept of the open awning, with us there is racing to touch.

Max Nagel (MX Masters)

What a great weekend for me and the team! We were able to take the title early, which is the third title in a row for me and the second for KMP. On Saturday we still had a few problems with the track, but it was great to finish the races on the podium in second place. Our goal was to score points and secure the title early on – and we did it! Now we’re going to Holzgerlingen once again with full action to secure the manufacturers’ championship and the team title. It would be mega if we could reach the treble again. We all have to give it our all once again. It was a great season, and the highlight is still the MX of Nations. A huge thank you to the whole team – everyone did a great job!

Jordi Tixier (MX Masters)

The weekend started well because I was the fastest in qualifying. Unfortunately, the races did not go quite as planned. My start wasn’t ideal and I struggled with the track. I gave it my all, but it didn’t pay off in the end.  Now there is still a round to go. I’ll give it my all and after the last run the points will be counted. 6th place in the overall standings for Jauer was okay and I’m still within striking distance of second and third place in the championship.

Marco Fleißig (MX Masters)

In qualifying, I finished 19th in my group. In Last Chance Qualifying (LCQ) I had a mediocre start, but was able to qualify for the races. In the first race I had a great start and was in the top 15. Unfortunately, a stone hit my glasses, causing them to tear. Since I no longer had tear-off visors, a lot of dirt collected on the glasses, and I finally finished the race in 29th place. On Sunday, it was difficult for me to find my speed and show my skills. Now it’s time to continue training and work hard to really attack again in Holzgerlingen. Many thanks to the whole squad for a great weekend!

Scott Smulders (MX Youngster)

Qualifying was okay, I finished 5th and was only one second off the top. In the first moto I had a good start, but then I got hit by a rock on my hand, which cost me a few laps to get back into my rhythm. After that, I found my pace and finished the race in 8th place, just three seconds behind fourth.

In the second moto, my start was good again, but I struggled in the first turn and struggled throughout the race to ride properly. In the third moto, things didn’t go well in the first corner, and I was initially around 20th place. However, I was able to fight my way forward strongly, had the fifth fastest race lap and finished the race in 11th place. These are not the results I had hoped for, but now I will make sure that my hand is 100% fit again by Holzgerlingen.

Marius Adomaitis (Junior Cup 125 )

Qualifying went well, I finished in 7th place. In the first race I had a decent start and was able to fight my way up to 5th place. I then rode the race alone and I’m very happy with my result. In the second race, I had a bad start, but was able to fight my way up to 6th place. I tried to get even closer to 5th place, but in the end it was just not enough. Overall, I am satisfied with my results and know exactly where I can improve for Holzgerlingen.

Edvards Bidzans (MX Youngsters)

A good weekend for me. My pace in qualifying was strong, so I was able to take 2nd place in my group. The races were also quite positive overall. The starts, while not perfect, were definitely better than in the last laps. My speed was good, but the competition was also strong. With the placings 6-8-6 in the races, I finished 7th overall. I’ve scored important points and I’m happy to be able to support the team.
