A hot day greeted the riders competing in the fifth round of the FMI Marche Regional Championship at the Crosspark in Ponzano di Fermo. It was not easy for them to cope with the track, which was sometimes covered in dust during the heats.
With this in mind, Luca Rosati and Davide Paglialunga took to the track on Saturday. Luca crashed hard during a free practice session and was taken to hospital by helicopter. Fortunately nothing serious, but he will not be able to race on Sunday and will need a period of rest to recover from the various bruises.
Davide was the only one defending our colours. In the morning time trials in the 125cc class (seniors and juniors raced together as usual) his good lap earned him sixth place.
At the start of the first race, Davide immediately established himself in seventh place, where he remained for most of the race, taking the chequered flag in that position. In the second race he started in the top ten and for a few laps he held sixth and seventh place, but in the last part of the race a small drop caused him to finish in tenth place.
With these results Davide finished the day in sixth place overall and maintained the same position in the Junior 125 Championship standings, with the last race in September remaining to see how his championship will end.
Now we have a long summer break to recover and prepare for the last round of the Regional and the last stages of the Italian Pro Prestige for Luca and the Italian Junior for Davide.
MATTIA SERAFINI (Team Manager): “It was a weekend that started badly with Luca’s bad crash, to whom we send our best wishes for a speedy recovery. Davide did what he could on Sunday on a track that was very difficult because of the dust and where he never found the right feeling. Nevertheless, it remains another positive performance, even if we could have done more in race two. We remain very satisfied and will continue to work during this long break, which will see the start of the Junior Finals in September and the final rounds of the Italian Pro Prestige and Regional championships. There are so many commitments to be made in the best possible way. Thanks, as always, to everyone who supports us in this project.
