The Firepower Honda team delivered solid performances in both the 450 and 250 classes.
Despite tough competition in the East vs West shootout, Anstie secured a commendable 7th place finish in the final, elevating him to 6th in the East Coast championship standings. With his eyes set on podium finishes before the season ends, Anstie remains confident in the team’s capabilities and his own speed, despite challenges during the race.
“It was a strong night for us. Despite starting from the back, I managed to secure 7th place and was the 4th best East Coast rider tonight. I’m genuinely pleased with our team and bike performance. While a better start in the final could have made a difference, I got caught up with fallen riders early on. However, I’m confident in our speed and our bike’s capabilities. With that in mind, I believe we can compete for podium finishes in the remaining two rounds,” remarked Anstie
Reflecting on his return from injury, Dean Wilson exhibited remarkable perseverance in the 450 class. Despite starting from 17th position, he battled his way to an 11th place finish, passing numerous factory riders along the way. Wilson expressed satisfaction with his performance, acknowledging the difficulties he faced and maintaining focus on his journey back to full fitness.
“I would have been thrilled with a top 10 finish, but if someone had told me we’d place 11th upon our return, I would’ve been skeptical. Nonetheless, returning to racing made me happy. We’ll keep pushing forward, maintaining our focus on regaining full fitness,” remarked Wilson.
