This weekend the world championship will start for the De Baets MX team. The Yamaha team will compete at the Arroyomolinos circuit in Spain with Benoit Paturel in the MXGP class and Lotte van Drunen in the WMX class.
Van Drunen has enjoyed a good preparation for the season and is starting her second full season in the world championship. Last year, she managed to finish third in the final standings and won her home Grand Prix in Arnhem, as well as moto victories in Sardinia and Switzerland. She will try to improve on these performances this year and will fight for the world title.
Benoit Paturel finished twelfth in the MXGP World Championship last year and rode a very consistent season. No less than eleven times he finished inside of the top ten in the very strong MXGP class. Due to a late start to the preparation, Paturel will have to grow into the season, but is aiming to score as many top ten places as possible.
