Strong Team result at Grayan
With three riders finishing the Gurp TT in the top four, Team Honda Motoblouz SR consolidates its position in the championship as Cyril Genot, Lars Van Berkel and Jeremy Hauquier are currently first, second and third! Cherry on the cake, Mathilde Martinez who join us for the final two rounds won the Women class.
In Grayan – penultimate round of the series before the final one at Le Touquet – it’s an incredible performance that achieved Cyril Genot who finished second behind Todd Kellet, winner of this race for the third time in a row. After his knee injury sustained a few weekend ago at St Léger, Cyril did a clever race as he rode safely the first laps and then increase his rhythm to secure the second position. As usual Lars Van Berkel did another strong race, and with a third position he consolidates his championship ranking and remain a title contender. After a strong comeback in the last hour of racing Jeremy Hauquier finished fourth, while Brian Bogers just missed the top ten with an eleventh position. Not used to race during two hours and a half among 400 riders, our last recruit learned a lot this week and will be stronger at Le Touquet! Joining the team for this last two rounds of the series, Mathilde Martinez won the Women class, another great result for us who have now three weeks of hard work to prepare le Touquet.
Josse Sallefranque: “Very happy with the overall result, starting with a great performance from Cyril who, as we know, is riding injured; he started quietly, took a few laps to find his rhythm before finding solutions and managing to avoid any contact with other riders during the race. He comes back second, very happy for him! Lars was in the game throughout the race, all the time in the top five to grab a nice third place, happy to see the real Lars back ! Jeremy was a little shy at the start of the race, but he finished strongly to take fourth place. Tough first sand race for Brian, that’s also shows championship level; at the start of the race he didn’t really know how his body would react during such a long race, then he showed great pace in the last hour. An eleventh position is not the result we expected, but he is working hard and is motivated for the weeks to come. Finally very happy also with the victory of Mathilde Martinez, who won her first sand race with us!”
