Benoit Paturel of the De Baets MX team finished in twelfth place in the final standings of the MXGP World Championship. Paturel has had a very positive season and managed to achieve a top ten place again during the last race in the British Matterley Basin.
Paturel had a positive start to the weekend. In time practice he managed to set a good time on the clock and he took this rhythm with him to the qualifying heat. Paturel rode a strong heat and crossed the finish line in eighth place.
In the first moto, Paturel again rode consistently. After a fairly good start, he quickly got his hands on eleventh place. He managed to hold this position for a long time and moved up to tenth place in the second part of the race. He managed to hold this position until the finish and again took important points.
The second was disappointing for Paturel so he did not score. For Paturel, this was not the end to the season he had hoped for. However, he managed to finish the championship in a neat twelfth place.
In addition to Paturel, Bradley Mesters also competed in the EMX250 class. Mesters managed to score in both motos with a 19-18 in both motos and became twenty-first in the day classification.
